“Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life”

St. Rose of Lima School currently educates 105 students in Preschool and grades 1-8, our highest total enrollment in over five years.

Dedicated parishioners at St. Rose founded the school in 1911, with the help and sacrifices of the School Sisters of St. Francis. To date, over 2000 students have graduated through eighth grade at St. Rose over our 98 year history.

Through the leadership of our parish pastor, Fr. Michael Schmitz and our Head Teacher, Scott Becker, our experienced staff of nine full-time teachers and one teaching aide, along with our crew of dedicated volunteers, St. Rose School provides to our students what our parents say is a “family atmosphere” steeped in Catholic faith, identity and tradition.

Fr. Michael Schmitz with St. Rose School Students
Over the past 98 years, St. Rose has maintained academic excellence, with annual ITBS scores averaging among the top quarter of elementary student scores in the nation, with several subject areas rating in the top ten percent.

Our students are perennial state competitors in National History Day competition, sending a representative to Washington, D.C. three of the past six years. Our students also excel as district winners to the Modern Woodmen Speech Contests nearly every year, with last year’s St. Rose winners placing in the regional contest.

Under the spiritual direction of Fr. Schmitz, our students are asked to follow Father's advice, to "pray, pray, pray" day in and day out. Our students put their faith in action by applying the principles of Jesus’ Gospel message of love to everyday service projects for our school, parish and greater community.

Our alumni go on to become valedictorians in high school, excel in academics, athletics and service organizations and put their faith in action by serving their community and parishes as responsible citizens in whatever careers they choose.

Our dedicated faculty and parents are all determined to provide a Christian-based, faith filled future for St. Rose School students, carrying on a tradition of nearly 100 years of education centered on incorporating Christ into students' lives every day, in every class. (See our school fact sheet for more information – if you’d like to enroll a new student at St. Rose School, contact the school office at 402-388-4393).
